“I felt appreciated because the REACH person is a great listener.”
We walk with you.
No matter how small or big your goals are in life, the REACH team are here to help you.
No matter how small or big your goals are in life, the REACH team are here to help you.
REACH is a new support service for people who are registered as job seekers and manage a health issue or disability. We will take time to listen, support and walk with you.
REACH is personalised – REACH considers what’s best for you and the REACH team are there to listen and understand your specific needs.
REACH is voluntary – you decide whether or not to take part and you can stop whenever you want. It’s completely up to you.
REACH does not affect your benefit - it’s true! There are no catches. Your benefit will not be affected.
REACH is a 12 week programme – this is not a typical group course! Over 12 weeks you will gain practical and personalised support from people who really care.
REACH is holistic – it’s concerned about the wellbeing of the whole person by understanding your health needs, and your work and life goals.
REACH is flexible and unique – you will receive a lot of support from the REACH team; we are skilled and genuinely care. We take the time to understand you.
For more information about REACH you can talk to your case manager or contact us.

“I highly recommend it, if I could do it all over again, I’d do it all over again.”
“I would absolutely 100% recommend, it a hundred, million, billion percent.”
“It’s like having a little support team, they’re going come on, you can do it.”
“The support has been fantastic, particularly as I don’t have any family here.”
“It’s probably the best experience I’ve had with a programme like this.”
Work and Income has teamed up with Waikato District Health Board (DHB) to develop the REACH programme.
The aim is to help registered job seekers with health conditions and disabilities to improve their quality of life so they can enjoy the rewards of working.
“We are a group of very passionate individuals aiming for the same goal of making a positive difference in people’s lives. We have a wealth of life and professional experience amongst us. We are enthusiastic and have community backgrounds. We all love meeting people; are compassionate and have people’s best interest at heart. We are creative in finding personalised ways of dealing with problems. We are also your everyday working parents with ‘normal’ struggles in life, as well as lots of interests such as soccer and rugby coaching, gym workouts and exercise, cooking and baking, and creative cultural activities like music, arts and crafts.”
If the REACH Programme has been suggested to you and you believe it is the right fit for you, let your Case Manager know and we will start walking with you.
